My First Ever Scrapbook Layout

Hi Everyone,
Hope you are having a great holiday weekend. I am going to a party today and I am looking forward to seeing some friends I haven't seen for a while.

In the meantime, I just wanted to share with you a scrapbook layout I made for Sparkle N Sprinkle. Let me tell you, this has been more than a little challenging for me. LOL This is my first ever scrapbook 2 page L/O.

When I received this project, I had decided that the theme was going to be a pirate theme. Back in 2009 I had taken pictures of replica ships of the Nina and the Pinta and those ships reminded me of pirate ships. So it was important that I find those pics. And believe me, I was bound and determined to find those pic's. (Took me 2 weeks to figure out where the pic's were, they were in a flash drive and of course it was the last place I looked.)  Next, since I wanted to print my pic's out using my Kodak printer, I needed to transfer the pics from the flash drive back to an SD card. Wasn't so sure that would work, but it did. (Will wonders ever cease. LOL) After I printed the pic's out I then had to decide on the layout. Since I was working with a Pirate theme I knew I wanted to use stamps from set 458 - Treasure Hunt and set 459 A Pirate's Life. These sets are both Pirate themed stamp sets and I just thought they would tie in perfectly with the ships pic's.

Well, here is the end result of my hard work and worrying over this project.

Whew, I could never be a scrapbooker. Too many things to remember... and think of ....and find.... and have in the stash and........... OK, I guess it's the same type of challenge making a card. LOL

Have a great and safe weekend and I will be back soon with more cards and less scrapbooking. LOL

The Cornish Heritage Farms Challenge

Hello Everyone

What a busy weekend I had. I worked at the Stamplistic booth at a Creating Keepsakes show in Buffalo N.Y. and did make and takes. I met a lot of great people from the US and Canada. Just a quick thanks to all of you who did my make and take!!

Today is the first challenge at Cornish Heritage Farms. There will be a new challenge every other Tuesday at the Cornish Heritage Farms Blog. We would love to have you play along too.

Frances is the challenge hostess for this first challenge .She has challenged us to "Anything Goes". So for my card this week I designed a wedding card.

Since June is the traditional wedding month and it's right around the corner, I thought a wedding card would be a great card to showcase. The digi stamp I used is perfect for this wedding card. I printed it out on white card stock then I fussy cut the dress out and added tulle to it to make the dress really look like a bride's dress. Next, I made a veil, using more tulle and pearl beads. For my last step, I textured the white shimmer paper panel and added an oval with glitter and flowers.

Supplies I used:
digi stamp - Dress1 - 2043
tulle
Pearls
Card stock - white shimmer, pink shimmer
Pink Glitter
Pink Flowers
Oval from Cuttlebug Plus A-2 Embossing Folder - Carly

Once you have created your card/project come back to the Cornish Heritage Farms Blog and place a comment with a link to your card/project to this post so that we can see what you created. If you upload your card/project to SCS don't forget to include the keyword CHF01. We can't wait to see what you create!

Here is the list of the design team members so you may want to go over to their blogs to visit them and check out there wonderful creations for this challenge.

A Kitchen Table

Hi Everyone
Well it's Thursday and it's time for the next Art Impressions weekly challenge. This weeks theme is beverages and since I am not a coffee drinker, I opted for a tea theme, so that is why I crossed off the word coffee.

I love using metallic paper/card stock, however the reflections really can mess with the camera. So I am sorry this photo is not better.
Since the tea cups and the tea pot are old fashioned looking I decided to use some old lace that my mom had years ago. I have yards of it.

Stamps used: Art Impressions A Kitchen P2136  Mini Tea Pot G2641   Mini Tea Cup D2682
Inks - India Ink
Glitter - Sunset
Paper/Card stock - Silver card stock, Cream CS, White CS, DP
Lace
Hope you decide to submit a creation to this weeks challenge.

I will be participating in a blog hop over on my other blog, www. ippitydoda.blogspot.com  it starts at 8:00 p.m. EDT tonite so try to stop on by over there, there will be prizes.

Have a great week!!

Live Life in the Deep End

Hi Everyone,
Guess who I saw today, Agnes, and she had been to the Kentucky Derby, in all her finest. In fact I have a card that depicts her at the derby last Saturday. She said she had a blast and said she is living life "in the deep end". I guess she is going to let her hair down, so to speak. She said she was in the infield and had a spot right next to the rail,.... saw the race and everything.(Most people in the infield never see a horse run. LOL) She even had a bet on the winner,.... bet 'em to show ......she was being conservative in her bets. LOL  Well I know she was wearing her Derby Hat and she was decked out in her finest. You know, the infield is a happening place, so I bet she had a great time.

I hope you enjoyed Agnes' adventure as much as she did.

Stop back tomorrow for the next weekly challenge.

Celebrate

Hi Everyone
I am so glad you've stopped in today. I have a fun card to share with you. Today's theme over at the Art Impressions weekly challenge is a Circle Card. And on top of that, the postman delivered me some new Art Impressions stamps today, perfect timing!!! I knew what kind of a card I wanted to do and when I looked at the new stamps, I envisioned which stamps I thought would be perfect for that round card. I selected the Party Girls because of the balloons, it just fit with the round card theme.

Here is the card opened

The girlfriends are having a blast and I just added some more balloons to add to the party look. I added bakers twine to the balloon bottoms so they could hold on to the balloons. LOL.  The sentiment is sitting on a tag cut from the Spellbinders Fancy Tags Die. I actually extended the die to allow the sentiment to fit. Also, since there is a large area of white space, I added my squiggles to that white background using a glue pen and covered that with Sparkling Snow Glitter. That just adds to the party atmosphere. LOL

Stamps - Art Impressions - Party Girl Set - 4131
Glue Pen
Spellbinders Dies - Fancy Tags  S4-235, Grand Circles LF 114

Bakers Twine
Card stock - Lt. Purple, Dk. Purple, White CS

Well hope you had fun at the party the girlfriends are hosting.

Have a great day, see you soon.

It's Grill Out Time

Hi Everyone,
Do you believe it, we just scooted into May. We are already done with 1/3 of the year. WOW!!!!!

A week from this Sunday is Mother's Day, and a lot of families are going to be cooking out. So here is a cute invitation to send out for this great party. And who else is the perfect couple to announce your great party than the BBQ Couple, and they always host a great grill party.

Since I don't have an apron die, I cut my own out of blue CS. When I added the gingham paper, I adhered it on the sides and the bottom, leaving a opening on the top for a pocket. Next I wanted to make the couple stand out so I adhered the couple to a label shape.I adhered the stamped image on the bottom half of the label and used pop dots on the top half of that stamped image.Next I just adhered the bottom half of the label to the gingham paper.  Behind the label shape is the invitation information for the BBQ party, tucked right into that pocket. What a cute party invitation and it fits into an A-2 size envelope.

Stop back tomorrow for my card based on the new theme for this weeks Art Impressions Weekly Challenge.

Supplies used:
Art Impressions Stamp -BBQ Couple
Copic Markers - E51, E33, E000, O, C-0, R81, RV06, YG09, YG41, Y17, Y21, BG000
